It’s hard to argue that Arsenal need a strong talent who is excellent on the ball at the base of the midfield.

That’s one of the things most lacking in this current Arsenal side. January signing Mohamed Elneny looks very good on the ball but also very energetic, he hasn’t yet been used by Arsène Wenger as the deepest player in the midfield.

So, with Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini set to leave the club this summer, the Gunners will need another midfielder. According to transfermarketweb, that midfielder could be 20-year-old Walace Souza Silva of Gremio.

Though he is just 20, the holding midfielder has made 53 appearances in the Brazilian top flight and is by all accounts a player who can do a bit of everything. Intelligent performances have seen him earn comparisons to Invincible Gilberto Silva.

Also being watched by the likes of Fiorentina and Benfica, Walace could’ve moved to Serie A in January but a move allegedly broke down.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (per ESPN), Gremio could be willing to do business for around £8m, which, in the grand scheme of things, isn’t much if Arsenal are interested in the young midfielder.

With three caps for Brazil u23s, Walace could be in action during the Olympics in the summer and would probably miss the start of the European season as a result.
