It looks like Mathieu Debuchy is finally going to get his transfer, but there was twist earlier on in the day on Monday.
Arsène Wenger’s press conference on Monday morning saw him confirm that Debuchy was still available and could move away on loan, but was unlikely to leave the Premier League.
However, it emerged that Debuchy was close to a move to Bordeaux, a move that is likely to be completed sometime later today.

However, before Bordeaux were linked the Gunners were allegedly fending off a bid from Manchester United, who wanted Debuchy on a permanent deal. According to L’Equipe, Wenger personally blocked the move and Debuchy was told he could choose between a move to Bordeaux and a move to Aston Villa.

The story is a good one for Arsenal fans, who will remmeber losing Robin van Persie to United back in 2012. There’s no way this move would have even compared, but it just underlines how unwilling Wenger now is to possibly strengthen any other side around us in the Premier League.
