Earlier on transfer deadline day we reported on the rumour that Charlton were after Yaya Sanogo and now the deal has gone ahead.

The striker will join the Championship team until the end of the season and will hopefully get some much needed playing time.

Sanogo’s loan deal at Ajax, where he’s been this season, was cancelled and it appears Arsenal didn’t waste any time in finding him another club.

It’s sad that the Frenchman hasn’t really been able to find his feet at Arsenal, or with anyone, and here’s hoping that this is the move that will really sky-rocket his confidence and allow him to regain some kind of form.

Although we only got the 23-year-old on a free in 2013 from Auxerre, it’s never good to see a player suffer, especially when he’s a Gunner.

We wish him the best of luck at his temporary new team and hope we starts banging in the goals as soon as possible.
