A fourth consecutive Serie A win for Wojciech Szczesny and AS Roma on Friday night saw the side go up to third in the table at the start of the weekend.

It wasn’t the busiest of evenings for the Polish goalkeeper, who conceded but only face two shots on target in the 3-1 victory. After a great strike from Lucas Digne had given Roma the lead, Kevin Lasagna equalised for Carpi.

Szczesny will be disappointed with his positioning, eager to come off his line he closed Jerry Mbakogu down at a tight angle, only to allow the striker to square the ball for Lasagna to tap in.

The win was rescued by former Manchester City and Chelsea players Edin Dzeko and Mohamed Salah, with this latest run of form giving Roma a real shot at making the Champions League, something which seemed unthinkable just a few weeks ago.
