Luis Enrique announced his squad for the game against Arsenal on Tuesday night and has left a few players at home.
Naming a 19-man squad, the Barca manager left out Barta, Douglas, Sandro, Rafinha, and Arda Turan.
Turan misses out through suspension after being sent off in April when playing for Atletico Madrid against Real Madrid in the second leg of the quarter finals last year.
Douglas, Sandro and Barta have been left out due to a ‘technical decision’ while Rafinha is injured.
Barcelona are arrived in London today (Monday) and trained at the Emirates.
The official squad listed for the game is as follows:
Ter Stegen, Bravo, Masip, Pique, Rakitic, Sergio, Dani Alves, Iniesta, Suarez, Messi, Neymar Jr, Mascherano, Munir, Jordi Alba, Roberto, Adriano, Aleix Vidal, Vermaelen and Mathieu.
Arsenal go into the game knowing that they will need to be much improved on their appearance against Hull if they are to have any hope against what is likely the best team in world football right now.
Undefeated in 33 games, Barcelona couldn’t be in any better shape ahead of the game. Thankfully, we will see a lot of changes to the side that struggled against Hull in the FA Cup and with the return of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez facing his old side for the first time, the team that discarded him so recently, we can dream a little of pulling off a miracle.
Yep, it’s the hope that kills you.
