Mathieu Debuchy’s loan move to Bordeaux has finally been completed.

The Frenchman, who wants to get more first team football in order to have a chance of being picked for Euro 2016, is going to exactly the right place if he wants to get noticed.

The right-back has had one foot out the door since Hector Bellerin took his place in the starting XI. After Debuchy failed to perform on the chances he was given, it looked less and less likely that the 30-year-old would remain a regular member of the Arsenal squad.

Although he’s been linked with loan moves to Roma, Sunderland, West Brom, Aston Villa and, most recently, Manchester United, when Bordeaux came a-knocking, I’m sure it was hard for the Frenchman to resist.

Hopefully he gets the game time he wants during his six-month loan spell in Ligue 1 and comes back potentially ready to compete for a position in our starting XI.
