Arsenal have announced that they will be playing two pre-season friendlies against the MLS All-Stars and Chiva de Guadalajara in the USA.

The first match will take place on July 28th at the Avaya Stadium in San Jose against the MLS All-Stars, while the second will be against Chivas de Guadalajara at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles on July 31st.

The fixture against MLS All-Stars could be a tasty one considering it could include the likes of Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard – all players we’ve encountered before and who have proven stiff opposition.

Speaking about the two friendlies, Wenger said, “Pre-season is a critically important time for us and we are delighted to be going to San Jose and Los Angeles to participate in the 2016 MLS All-Star game and to play Chivas.

“We have tremendous support across America and enjoyed our visit to New York in the summer of 2014 when we played the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena. We look forward to giving our US fans the chance to see the team play live.”

For the last few seasons, a large chunk of our pre-season has been spent in Asia where Arsenal has a huge following but we haven’t visited the USA since 2014, so it’s exciting for us to change it up a bit.

According to the Arsenal site, tickets aren’t currently available but will be ‘announced in due course’.
