Arsene Wenger praised the new Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, ahead of our clash against the Reds on Wednesday.
However, despite being complimentary of the former Dortmund boss’s style and personality, Wenger insisted that Arsenal are ready for whatever Liverpool have to throw at them.
“You have to play with your style and what you believe is strong,” Wenger said.
“He is a great manager and he will do that.
“We know that Liverpool will be absolutely up for it, we will be up for it.
“It is down to us to be very strong in the challenges to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
There’s clearly plenty of mutual respect between the two managers and therefore, I reckon we’ll get a recent match on Wednesday night. Neither boss is the type to back down or merely go for a draw and I’m sure we’ll see plenty of attacking, yet resilient football.
Klopp enjoyed quite a bit of success in the Bundesliga and despite not setting the Premier League alight just yet, it’s probably only a matter of time before he really hits his stride. I also don’t think Wenger, or the team, will underestimate Liverpool in the slightest, especially on their turf.
Arsenal haven’t had the best time at Anfield in recent seasons, hopefully we can turn this around.
