Arsenal put three past Jordan Pickford in the Sunderland goal on Saturday afternoon as they ensured their name would be in the hat for Monday’s fourth round draw.
Goals from Joel Campbell, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud cancelled out Jermain Lens opener for the Black Cats but it was the first Arsenal goal that was the important one as it meant the Gunners have scored in 21 of their last 22 home ties in the FA Cup.
For a side (and manager) often accused of not taking the competition seriously (and of needing a striker) it’s quite the stat:
