Although we haven’t heard a lot about Victor Wanyama to Arsenal in recent weeks, not too long ago the Southampton midfielder was being heavily linked with a move to us.

However, whether that was genuinely on the cards or not, it now appears that the option is no longer on the table.

The deal for the defensive midfielder the Saints were planning on bringing in as Wanyama’s replacement, Sturaro, has stalled after a bid for £12.7m was turned down by Juventus.

If Southampton fail to secure a new man before the transfer window, it’s unlikely that we’ll be getting Wanyama. However, with Elneny coming to north London in a matter of days, I highly doubt we’re still looking at the Southampton star.

Wanyama is a decent midfielder and has caused us trouble on the occasions we’ve faced him. Therefore, he would have been a good addition but as it stands, it look as if we’ve already found our man.
