The player may have only moved to a new club during the summer but that doesn’t mean he can’t be linked with Arsenal once again, especially as the transfer window is now open.

AS in Spain are claiming that Arsenal are interested in signing Jackson Martinez, the player they have allegedly been interested in for years but never bothered to do anything about, even when his last club were willing to let him go.

Of course, AS got their info from the Mirror who believe that Diego Simeone would be willing to discard Martinez who has just two goals and two assists in 14 La Liga appearances this season but it’s hard to believe there is much truth to any of this.

Martinez moved from Porto for a fee reported to be £24.5m in July and is under contract until 2019.

At 29 years of age there is simply no way Arsene Wenger is going to pay the fee that Atletico Madrid would want to release their player – and I don’t even think they want to let him go in the first place.

More nonsense that can just be ignored.
