Roma are reportedly close to bringing in a new signing, which could affect Arsenal loanee Wojciech Szczesny’s stay at the Serie A club.

Brazilian goalkeeper, Alisson, is said to be close to a move to Italy from Internacional and with Woj currently number one, this suggests that our Pole in goal could be on his way back to north London.

Rumours have been circulating recently that Roma want to keep Woj for another season after his loan spell is complete. The 25-year-old is hugely popular with the fans and has appeared 22 times this season, only disappearing from between the sticks briefly to heal a broken finger.

Alisson is supposed to be heading to Roma for around €7.5m very soon and it’ll be interesting to see if he gets started ahead of Woj. If he does, perhaps the Serie A team aren’t quite as keen on keeping him as we originally thought. If he doesn’t and Woj continues to shine, this could be indicative that the Pole is set to stay in Italy.
