Emmanuel Eboue is eyeing a return to Arsenal after being a free agent for the past eight months.
Eboue was released by Galatasaray during the summer after falling out with coach Cesare Prandelli.
Still only 32 it would seem strange that the player, who is not without merit and would be a relatively decent squad player for a number of clubs (none of them Arsenal) is without a club, but speaking to the Sun he revealed what he’d love to do – return to London and Arsenal.
“I came back for training and was told I would not be playing.
“The president told the manager at the time not to pick me. The way I was treated was very unfair.”
“We are looking for options but I’d love to come back to Arsenal.”
It’s not surprising that Eboue would like to return to the club where he is seen as something of a cult hero. If he realised that was less to do with his ability and more to do with fans feeling incredibly guilty because they booed him off the pitch, he might feel differently.
Thankfully, there is no chance of it happening.
