Mohamed Elneny has already given his first interview with Arsenal and seems excited to be part of our team.

The midfielder spoke highly of both the club and Arsene Wenger, describing it as ‘an honour’ to be able to train under him.

“Mr Wenger is a highly respected manager and one of the world’s best managers,” he said.

“It is my honour to be trained under his management.

“It is one the biggest clubs in the world, I know everything about it and its players.

“I would like to tell [the fans] that, although you have not seen much of me, I promise I will contribute positively with the team. I am hoping that we win the Premier League and cup this season, and the Champions League as well.”

Elneny is an exciting signing not just because, at 23, we actually need him but because he’s old enough to have experience and young enough to be able to adapt to a new league. Although it’s doubtful that we’ll see him walk straight into the first team, it shouldn’t be long before he’s taking part.

Of course, technically, if we’ve got the paperwork sorted, he should be able to take part in our Premier League match against Stoke, which would be quite some introduction to the Premier League.

On the day, it’ll be down to Wenger but perhaps giving the former Basel man a taste of things to come would be a good way to introduce him.
