Recent reports have been suggesting a loan move to Aston Villa is on the cards for Mathieu Debuchy and now it appears that the right-back is fully on board with the idea.
Despite rumours that the Frenchman could be off to Bayer Leverkusen this January, it’s thought that the former Newcastle man would much rather a move within the Premier League, with Villa appearing to be the most keen to sign him.

Staying in the Premiership will keep him playing at our level if we do eventually want him back.
Although Debuchy wants the loan move to the Midlands, he’s reportedly not so keen on a permanent deal. Whether this is because he truly sees his future with Arsenal or whether he thinks he’s too good for Villa long-term remains to be seen.
Now that it’s 99% clear that Debuchy is leaving, hopefully the club wrap up the deal as soon as possible so we can move on.
