Mathieu Debuchy is desperately trying to claw away from Arsenal.

The right-back, who has made it clear that he’s not happy in north London considering he’s not getting any playing time, originally looked likely to leave for Serie A club Roma to join his former manager, Rudi Garcia.

However, the Roma manager recently got shown the door and with this in mind, Debuchy is no longer interested in moving abroad. In fact, he’s reportedly very keen on staying in the Premier League, with a loan move to Aston Villa on the cards.

Since getting injured, Hector Bellerin has overtaken Debuchy in the pecking order at Arsenal and it’s understandable that Debuchy wants to change this. He’s not getting any younger and it’s actually good to see he’s not happy just sitting on the bench.

The loan move would be a good one for the Frenchman. He’d get his playing time while staying in the Premier League.
