FC Basel have confirmed that Arsenal target, Mohamed Elneny, has missed training ahead of a possible transfer and with the Gunners being the only club seriously interested, it’s looking like the Egyptian could be heading to north London.

The midfielder has been linked with us heavily in recent weeks and with Francis Coquelin out for a while longer, the 23-year-old looks like a safe bet.

Now, Basel have confirmed that the player has missed training and could be on his way out of the club very soon.

FC Basel statement: “Not with us during training was Mohamed Elneny, for who there could be a transfer in the coming days.” #afc

Although this isn’t confirmation, it’s looking increasingly likely that we’ll be the club to get Elneny’s signature and proves that Wenger is true to his word.

With January only in its first week, it’s exciting to see whether this will be our only signing or whether Wenger has more plans in store.
