Here at Daily Cannon, we don’t like to let a chance to laugh at Ashley Cole pass by.

Now, the former Arsenal and Chelsea defender has chosen to bow out of his deal with Roma after not getting a match in Serie A for 10 months. That’s right…

After leaving Stamford Bridge, supposedly of his own accord, the ex-England international decided he wanted to move abroad and try a new challenge in another league.

At the time, Cole said, “Now I’ll be looking for another journey in my life. I hope it can be like my others, full of fun and of course win something.”

However, this didn’t exactly pan out and after signing for Roma in in July 2014, the defender only featured 16 times. Wow. Fun…

The former Gunner was never fully accepted at Roma. In fact, he was pictured training on the outskirts of the rest of the squad. The team and fans alike didn’t take to him, which was probably at least partially down to his English roots, and all this added up to an experience in Italy that the 35-year-old would rather put behind him.

The left-back, who used to be the best in England, is now destined for LA Galaxy, just like so many retiring footballers before him.
