Chelsea full back, Ola Aina, dubbed the ‘next John Terry’, has refused to sign a new contract with the Blues and Arsenal reportedly want to bring him to north London.
The 19-year-old is apparently unhappy with his lack of playing time for the first team in south London. He’s made 10 appearances for the Chelsea youth team so far this season and 31 last year but feels he deserves more and has turned down a new contract in search of it.
According to the Metro, we’re looking to bring the youngster in to replace Mathieu Debuchy when he inevitably leaves. Although we have Hector Bellerin as a regular starter at right-back, Calum Chambers, his usual back-up, appears to be a lot happier further up the pitch. It could be useful to bring in someone who specialises in that position while Chambers experiments with where his strengths lie.
As Aina is a youngster, Chelsea will probably have no qualms about selling to us and it sounds likely that we’ll be interested.
