Although Arsenal have managed to adapt and rotate in order to paper over the cracks in our injury-stricken squad, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will be busy in January’s transfer window.
Midfield is surely a position the boss will be looking to strengthen after Francis Coquelin injured his knee recently and was ruled out for months. In addition, Santi Cazorla is also out for a similar amount of time, Mikel Arteta seems unable to string more than a few appearances together, Jack Wilshere is still broken… the list goes on.
Speaking at his press conference before our clash with Newcastle on Saturday, Wenger confirmed that he will be active in the transfer window and looking to bring players.

Whether this will be for one or more players is unclear and Wenger he couldn’t reveal anything just yet but with rumours heavily linking us with Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, it’s looking pretty likely that we’ll be bolstering the squad in that key area.
