After worrying reports began to emerge that Danny Welbeck would be out until February, rather than the initially anticipated January, more quickly materialised in order to shoot down the claims.
After suffering a knee injury, which needed operating on, Welbeck was predicted to make a return in January. It feels as if the striker has been out for years and it’ll be good to see him back, although his introduction back to the first team is likely to take a long time.
However, recently rumours began to circulate that the former Manchester United man had suffered yet another set back and was now more likely to return in February, if not later.
Fortunately, the murmurings have been shut down pretty quickly by the Evening Standard, which claims he’s on track to return soon.
If the latter reports are true, this is good news considering the longer he’s out the harder it’ll be to integrate him back into the squad.
