Recently I got the chance to attend a Footpool event at London Colney on behalf of Citroen.

Essentially, it’s exactly how it sounds. The rules are the same as pool, except you get to boot inflatable balls around a huge pool table.

After us novices got a chance to waddle around the over-sized platform, kicking giant pool balls in all directions and tripping over our own feet (okay, that was probably just me), Ozil, Mertesacker, Giroud and Koscielny had a little tournament: Germany v France.

It’s fair to say that the professional footballers were a little more skilled than I was and actually made it look easy. Although one thing we did have in common was we all appeared to have a good laugh.
