Right at the end of the first half of our 2-0 win against Aston Villa, Theo Walcott scored an unreal goal, which was ruled offside.
However, on closer inspection, it does appear as if Jores Akore was playing the forward onside.
A neat ball into the centre from Giroud and a quick shimmy between his own feet allowed Theo to smash the ball into the right side of the net and potentially put us 3-0 up. However, the goal was ruled out as offside and the decision was so close, no one really complained.
Looking back, it does appear Akore’s left leg is actually playing Theo onside.
Interesting.
Although we still won and Villa never really looked a huge threat, if we were trailing or on level terms, he’d have every right to feel hard done by.
