Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez is still out for Saturday’s match against Newcastle.
The forward, who has been out for weeks with a hamstring injury he picked up while playing away at Norwich, was predicted to return for the Manchester City match on the 21st. However, said match has been and gone and the Chilean is still sidelined.
Although it does appear Alexis is close to a return, he won’t be ready for the Newcastle game, which means more squad rotation.
On the other hand, Mathieu Flamini, who has been standing in for Francis Coquelin, could make a return.
