Supposed Arsenal target, Victor Wanyama, could become more of a realistic possibility after Southampton have been rumoured to already be looking for his replacement.
The Saints are apparently looking at Porto’s Imbula to replace the 24-year-old after numerous top clubs have shown interest in the midfielder.
Speaking recently, Arsenal legend Robert Pires admitted that he really rates the Kenyan and with Francis Coquelin out for the foreseeable future with a knee injury, it’d be sensible for Wenger to buy a backup defensive midfielder.
Wanyama has appeared for Southampton 18 times so far this season and is a huge part of the team, which means he’d be fit and ready to dive right into the squad. In addition, he’s Premier League ready and we’ve had a fair bit of success buying from the Saints in the past.
If Wenger is considering dipping into the market, someone like Wanyama could be a great addition to the team.
