Ahead of our Premier League clash against Aston Villa, Remi Garde has heaped high praise onto Wenger, revealing how much he admires him and everything he’s done for Arsenal.
As a former Arsenal player, Garde’s respect for Wenger transcends that of most managers. He trained under him and knows what type of man the boss is.
Speaking ahead of the match, Garde said, “I’ve got a lot of admiration because I realise how tough this job is in the Premier League, how difficult it is to keep a job and get results.
“This is the first side (of the job) and then I remember the club at Arsenal 20 years ago without training facilities, without a modern stadium like they have today.
“All this has to be credited to Arsene.
“A football club is not only the results you get today but also how you will build for the future for yourself or for another manager for or another chairman or owner.”
It’s always heartwarming to hear other managers talk about their admiration for Wenger and everything he’s done. So many choose to take cheap shots or attempt to rile him but when they praise his work not just for Arsenal but for English football, it’s great to see.
The only problem is, since Garde probably knows the boss pretty well, he may use this to his advantage and know exactly how to play against us on Sunday. Hopefully Wenger will remain the master and Garde the student.
