I’m sure Gooners everywhere are having to fight off the urge to scream “I told you so!” from the rooftops at the moment.
Finally the world is seeing Mesut Ozil for what he is: an absolute genius.
Former Gunner Charlie Nicholas is the latest in a long line of journalists to jump on the brown-nosing bandwagon by describing the playmaker as ‘absolutely fabulous’. And I don’t think he’s referring to anything to do with Jennifer Saunders.
Ozil put in another outstanding performance in our 3-0 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League, which saw us through to the knock-out stages. The German got two pre-assists and was, as always, a huge part of the fantastic overall performance.
Speaking after the match, Nicholas said, “He was absolutely fabulous once again.
“He looked as though he wanted to prove a point in European football.
“He went to the stadium with a big performance and he turned up, they all did, but he was sensational tonight.”
The only issue I have is that everyone, apart from Arsenal fans, is acting surprised. As if before this season, Ozil was some nobody who couldn’t even control the ball. He’s a world cup winner and played for Real Madrid behind Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s more than capable and people are only realising it now.
