L’Equipe believe that Arsenal’s alleged offer for PSG’s Adrien Rabiot could be of interest to the French side – if they’ve made one in the first place.

The rumour started in the Telegraph and it seems, according to the French publication, that Rabiot could be ready for a move after it was revealed that he is ‘angry’ with his manager, Laurent Blanc due to the amount of playing time he’s getting.

The sports paper, however, don’t seem to be aware of any offer from the Gunners or even that they are preparing one, but should this be true they seem to think that it might be something that PSG would listen to.

Arsenal have been linked with Rabiot for a while now and as a central midfielder he would seem to suit Arsene Wenger more than the five thousand defensive midfielders who have also been linked.

Just 20, he still has more than three years left on his contract and is unlikely to come cheap – especially not during the January transfer window.

In the context of Arsenal’s midfield injury crisis, the move would seem to make sense, but what do Arsenal do with him when everyone is fit? Well, with Tomas Rosicky reaching the end of his playing career and Santi Cazorla not getting any younger, the move could certainly be a smart one with one eye on the future.

That being said, much would depend on the price PSG want for the player who is averaging under 70 minutes in the league this season.

Just a few days ago, it was reported that he had asked to leave and is open to a loan deal which would be more than a little perfect for Arsenal.

Too good to be true? Probably.
