Petr Cech has praised Olivier Giroud’s season so far after the striker overcame his goal drought and developed into a crucial player.
Speaking recently, the former Chelsea man admitted that the team have been under a lot of pressure but it’s made us stronger and better equipped to deal with whatever comes our way during the rest of the season.
One of the players who’s been under the most pressure is Giroud, who has had to face a ton of criticism after not getting off to the best of starts.
“You have to give Olivier a lot of credit because for a long period of the season Theo was injured and Danny has been injured, so there’s obviously a lot of pressure on him,” Cech said.
“We rely on him but he’s shown that he’s up to the challenge and he’s kept scoring important goals.”
Cech gives the impression of being a father figure at the club. Multiple players have mentioned how professional and helpful he is off the pitch, and he appears full of good advice.
This experience is one of the many reasons he’s become so valuable to the squad and why he was such an excellent investment. Players respect and listen to him.
