Losing Santi Cazorla to injury has been a huge blow to the squad and although we’re trying to adapt to football without him, it’s not going to be easy.

Worryingly, the knee injury that the Spaniard has sustained is a serious one and when speaking to Spanish radio station, Cadena Cope, he admitted that he could be out for up to four months.

“I am trying to take it well,” Santi said.

“These are the things that happen in football and I am trying to recover as soon as possible.

“I have to be ready mentally to work and hopefully I can shorten the recovery time as much as possible.

“I do not want to set a time but I want to play in three months. I do not want to extend it more if it is possible. Arsenal have told me it will be between three and four months, which may be closer to four.”

It must be horrific to pick up such a serious injury at this time in his career. He’s been playing well but he’s not getting any younger and months on the sidelines may reverse some of the progress he’s made.

Cazorla is known for being happy-go-lucky and positive so hopefully he can hold onto this while he’s out. He says he’s determined to make it back sooner rather than later and in order to do this he needs to keep a good head on his shoulders. I’m sure the club are giving him the best support.
