Once again the Edinson Cavani rumours have resurfaced and this time they’re claiming that although we want the striker, PSG won’t sell him until the summer.
The Uruguayan is a wanted man, with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all vying for his signature, according to the Daily Star.
What’s more, is we’re not only apparently willing to wait until the summer to swoop in, but we’re going to pay £47m for the pleasure.
I don’t have to tell you the reasons why this won’t happen, but I will. Firstly, we have a very capable striker in Giroud, back-up in Walcott and yet more reinforcements when Welbeck is free from injury. Why on earth would Wenger put so much faith in Giroud and spend so long preparing Theo for a central role if he was going to completely squash them both by making a big name signing to step into their place?
There’s no need for us to buy a striker at all, let alone part with so much cash for one.
Our priorities should be elsewhere and goalscoring is not a problem we currently have.
