Arsenal have moved up one place in the UEFA European rankings after their 3-0 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League this week.
Sealing qualification for the last 16 of Europe’s elite competition, Arsenal also helped improve their ranking which is based on results in Europe and helps determine seedings in the Champions and Europa League.
Based on results over the last five seasons, Arsenal moved up to 9th place, ahead of Borussia Dortmund and now sit just behind Juventus who occupy 8th spot.
Arsenal’s rankings have not been helped by their exits in the last 16 over the past few seasons, but making it out of the group has helped give them a little boost.
Whether they continue to move up the rankings depends on how they do when the Champions League returns.
