Arsenal are allegedly getting a bid worth €30m ready as they look to tempt PSG into selling Lucas Mora.

So says a report in the Italian press that gives no indication of where they got the information.

At this time of the year the only way to really separate the nonsense from the credible stories is to essentially call everything nonsense. Why? Because most of it is.

Moura is said to be open to a Premier League move and the Gunners are said to be…etc etc. You know how this goes.

Why are we covering it? Well, it seems to be gaining a little bit of traction and with a little bit of digging it seems that it was first reported that Arsenal were readying a bid at the start of December and things have gone from there.

Quite what might be taking them so long is not clear. Perhaps Dick Law is checking down the back of the sofa for some spare change.

Moura, 23, is under contract with the French side until 2019 after only signing for them at the start of 2013 in a deal worth €45m.

Arsenal, as you know, could do with a forward player or two so it’s hard to rule this out completely, despite what I said above about calling everything nonsense. While Joel Campbell has clearly improved, he’s not likely to develop to the level that would make him a first choice Arsenal wide man.
