Arsenal are said to be set to land Dynamo Moscow’s Aleksandr Kokorin in January according to reports coming out of Russia via the media outlet Izvestia.

Arsenal reportedly tried to sign Kokorin on loan during the summer window but his club refused to release the 24-year-old who is out of contract this summer.

It is claimed that he will cost as little as £4.3m.

Back in October his agent, Cyril Loginov, said “Aleksandr, if all well informed, still has a chance [to move in the future] and not just to Arsenal.

“If Dynamo refused to give Aleksandr to Arsenal in the past transfer window, it does not mean that he can’t be where he wants [in the next window].

“We have a very good relationship with the coaching staff and the management of the football club Dinamo Moscow.

“We have, of course, been notified.”

Kokorin has four league goals in eight appearances this season with five in ten in all competitions.

Quite how much truth there is to this rumour is hard to say but with the Arsenal trying to land him in the summer I wouldn’t be surprised to see him arrive in January, especially with him available for peanuts.
