We all know that Mesut Özil is the master of the assist but when it comes to chance creation this season, the German leads the way across all the top leagues in Europe.

With a whopping 54 chances created under his belt already, some seven chances more than the next person on the list – West Ham’s Dimitri Payet – Özil is in the best form of his Arsenal’s career by some distance.

With 10 assists in 11 Premier League games he also leads the assist charts across the top five European leagues (England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain).

Özil is said to be set for a new Arsenal deal which would see him become the highest paid player at the club.

Already the 12th highest paid player in world football, it is thought that he is on the same amount as Alexis Sanchez currently, but with rumours of a new deal on the way for the Chilean as well, it is unlikely that Özil will be out on his own as the top Arsenal earner for too long.
