Yaya Sanogo has had a fairly miserable time on loan at Ajax so far this season, but maybe he’s turned a corner.

Injured for the past six weeks, he’s managed just 72 minutes in five appearances for the first team, as he has failed to impress in training and hasn’t been given much of a chance. Thus far, his only real contribution was winning a penalty.

Back from injury at last and lining up in a friendly against Almere FC, the striker found the back of the net on Wednesday!

With Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck both injured, Sanogo would probably be on the bench for Arsène Wenger’s men at the minute but instead finds himself scoring tap-ins in Ajax friendlies.

Maybe this can be the start of something for Yaya, who desperately needs a good run in order to prove himself. Fingers crossed he will be given more of a shot in Amsterdam now he’s fit again and he goes on to take it.
