Theo Walcott put in a superb performance against Manchester United on Sunday and has dedicated the win to Arsene Wenger.

Although the forward didn’t score himself, he made two assists and was generally giving the United defence problems from the outset.

Speaking after the match, Theo praised the team’s performance and said that the 3-0 win sends a huge message to the rest of the league after so many doubted we were genuine title contenders.

“This sends a message that we’re here to be recognised without doubt,” Walcott said.

“There was a desire from kick-off, we looked very strong and were dominate at home against a big team and we should be playing like that every week.”

The whole team fought from the beginning to the end. The first half was past-paced and precise while we scored the goals we needed to go ahead comfortably, while the second half was calmer, measured and structured.

“The players will be aching after that one, we worked so hard and rightly so,” he said.

“That was all for the manager.

“That first-half we were unbelievable, no-one could have dealt with us, it was the best football I have ever been involved in. It was the Arsenal of old.”

There’s no arguing that. The first 20 minutes was potentially the best football we’ve played in a long, long time and my only hope is for it to continue. We’ve finally started to click and it’d be a shame if all this work didn’t pay off.
