With everyone hailing Christian Benteke after his great headed goal for Liverpool on Sunday, it is Arsenal’s very own Olivier Giroud who leads the way in the number of goals scored with headers since his arrival in 2012.
The underrated frontman, who is only outscored in the Premier League by Sergio Aguero, tops the list with the same number of headed goals as Christian Benteke.
The top four (via Squawka)
- Olivier Giroud – 14
- Christian Benteke – 14
- Romelu Lukaku – 10
- Peter Crouch – 10
Giroud has five goals in 10 Premier League games this season, but given the fact that he has been ousted as number one choice by Theo Walcott, when you look at his goals per minutes, it is significantly more impressive. He has only played enough minutes in the league to make up just under five full games.
Mesut Ozil, meanwhile, has been setting records of his own, becoming the most prolific assist maker in Premier League history.
