Juan Mata is finding it particularly hard to move on from Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, mainly because Santi Cazorla won’t let him forget.

While away on international duty for Spain, the midfielder has admitted that being sat near Santi at lunch isn’t the laugh-a-minute it’s rumoured to be.

“I’ve been eating at the same table as Santi Cazorla and he keeps reminding me that Arsenal beat us 3-0 at the weekend,” Mata said.

“Santi is a crack.”

Santi has every reason to gloat after the Gunners thrashed their title rivals at the Emirates. A stunning overall performance and blistering first 20 minutes, which saw us go three goals ahead, meant we took all three points off United and moved up to second in the Premier League.

Mata previously posted about the Red Devils’ loss on his blog and made it clear how unhappy he was with the defeat. The fact that Cazorla won’t let him live it down probably does twist the knife a bit.

I’m sure all of our players have been on the receiving end of their fair share of ‘banter’ over the years. It’s nice for us to be able to give it back.
