England u19s started their Euro 2016 qualification campaign with a win on Thursday, with the help of some talents from Arsenal.

Daniel Crowley, currently on loan at Barnsley, started for the England u19 team and played fairly well before being substituted after 74 minutes. The creative midfielder has been touted for a switch to play for the Republic of Ireland despite being born in England, but made his first appearance for the u19s in a 2-0 win.

After a bright start, Crowley has found himself on the fringes at Barnsley and will have been happy to get more minutes on the pitch again.

When he made way for a team-mate with 15 minutes to go, it was a familiar face who replaced him. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is another Arsenal player, though he is currently on loan at Ipswich Town. The 18-year-old won player of the month at Portman Road for September, and made a mark on the international stage despite coming off the bench.

A headed goal sealed the win for the young lions, who should move onto Saturday’s game against Finland with confidence. Hopefully both Arsenal boys feature again.
