Arsenal are being linked with moves for two of the biggest talents and Turkish club Besiktas.

Former Arsenal midfielder Oguzhan Özyakup was sold to the Turkish club for just €500,000 in 2012 and has managed a goal and four assists in six league appearances so far this season. The attacking midfielder recently netted his first goal for Turkey against the Netherlands.

Reports in Turkey (per talkSPORT) say Arsenal are watching the 23-year-old attacking midfielder with interest but, at €20m (£15m), that seems far from likely.

His team-mate, Gökhan Töre, is also being linked with a move to north London. The Turkish midfielder was actually born in Germany and has been on the books of Chelsea and Hamburger SV in the past. Like Özyakup, Töre has created plenty of chances for his team-mates this season.

It seems as though Mario Gomez is very much enjoying playing with them both. The arrival of the German striker this summer proved that no player leaving Besiktas will be cheap, as they clearly don’t need the money. Once again, Töre would reportedly cost something close to £15m.

Arsenal may look for reinforcements in January but, with Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck pencilled in for returns, players who play in attacking midfield or from the right wing don’t seem the most likely arrivals.

Especially from Turkey for £15m – that sum of money could go towards a much more useful purchase. Don’t watch this space too keenly.
