Last time he was on international duty, Alexis Sánchez lifted the Copa América with his Chile team-mates.

This time around he kept the good momentum going with an 82nd minute in Chile’s 3-2 win over Paraguay, who fielded a side of local players.

Chile had taken the lead before falling behind, and thankfully Alexis was no hand to tap in the late winner at the far post. The ball only went in after both the goalkeeper and the post had nearly stopped it, but the Arsenal man was wheeling away to celebrate eventually.

Despite taking 20 shots, Alexis is yet to score in the Premier League this season; no player has taken more shots without finding the back of the net, so hopefully this will help him find his goalscoring touch.
