Theo Walcott scored the equalising goal for Arsenal after Leicester City went ahead early on and insists that it was the Gunner’s ability to not panic under pressure that helped them push on to win.
The forward has now netted three goals for Arsenal so far this season after what many saw as a slow start. However, now he’s regaining his fitness and form, he’s on fire.
Speaking after the match against the Foxes, Theo echoed the importance of not panicking and just biding our time.
“We just continued to just play our game,” Theo said. “We knew we’d create chances on the counter attack. We knew they would come for us, especially as they were at home. We were patient and it was important that we did not panic.
“We got that [equalising] goal to get back into the game. After that we played with a lot of freedom and we took all our chances.”
The match ended 5-2 to Arsenal – our largest margin this season – and signaled what appears to be the whole team finally finding their form.
Alexis scored his first hat-trick for the club, Giroud also netted a goal after an iffy few matches, and the whole team played like a well-oiled machine.
Hopefully we can carry this success into our next match against Olympiacos on Tuesday.
