Bayern Munich and Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer celebrates his 70th birthday today, so Arsenal’s Germans have taken to Twitter to wish him a happy birthday.

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil and vice-captain Per Mertesacker have donned matching t-shirts to sent their message to the former Germany captain and manager, and we can only assume it’s something to do with Adidas.

Both of the Arsenal men are signed with Adidas, as was Beckenbauer and as are the German national team. And look, the t-shirt in question is new available on the Adidas website!

It was recently revealed that Özil earns an incredible amount of money from Adidas according to how much he tweets, so this is no surprise. If Mesut is working on commission maybe check out the shirt yourself and grab a couple to help him out, they’re only £32 after all…
