Spurs’ new signings, Son Heung-min, has revealed that he’s been told he’s not allowed to buy a red car.

In probably what is one of the stranger stories as of late, the new Spurs forward said, “Tottenham officials already told me I can’t even buy a red car.”

The admission is a little odd and it got me wondering whether all clubs have this policy? Are Manchester United players banned from driving blue cars? It’s all very odd and seems a little unnecessary. Although I’m not sure how badly the Korean wanted a red car. Maybe it’s not an issue. Maybe he hates red. Maybe the request to not buy a red car was a relief to him because, my goodness, he hates the colour.

Perhaps it’d make more sense if Son Heung-min was driving around in a red and white car with the Arsenal crest printed on the bonnet, blasting ‘We all follow the Arsenal’ from his sound system, kitted out in a vintage ’88 shirt, but merely buying a red car doesn’t seem like the worst thing he could do, to be honest.

I’m all for briefing the players on our historic rivalry but this seems a bit much!
