After a scuff with Chelsea striker Diego Costa shortly before half-time, Arsenal defender Gabriel was sent off on Saturday afternoon.
The game had been fairly even, but referee Mike Dean’s decision to send off Gabriel and not Diego Costa certainly swung it in the host’s favour, as they went on to win 2-0.
The pair had grabbed at each other and were booked before Gabriel foolishly waved a leg into the striker, but what went unnoticed by most was that Diego Costa had actually SCRATCHED the defender like some petulant toddler.

Costa caused scratches on Gabriel neck, and Gabriel is the one who gets the red card!!! pic.twitter.com/BN4MmFQ0RT

Unfortunately the striker pulls the same stuff every week, and every week he gets away with it. It’s tiring and Gabriel acted stupidly, but you can’t help but wish Mike Dean would have dealt with the situation properly.
