Thierry Henry has been linked with the vacant manager’s job at Motherwell but it is unlikely that we will see the Arsenal legend take up the role.

The rumours began to surface after the Scottish side sacked Ian Baraclough and bookies listed him as 8-1 to be awarded the job however given the fact that he is under (hefty) contract with Sky Sports and still undertaking his coaching badges, it would seem like the rumours are set to stay as just that.

With the Daily Express reporting that the Fir Park outfit have already received 40 applications for the job, it seems as they will not be short of interested parties after they sacked Baraclough on Wednesday evening despite only being in charge for nine months.

A 3-2 league cup defeat at the hands of Greenock Morton on Tuesday night was the final straw.

Henry, meanwhile, is coaching Arsenal’s youngsters as he looks to fulfil his ambition of one day managing Arsenal.
