Full-time complainer, part-time pundit Garth Crooks has said that he reckons Alexis Sanchez is the only player in the Arsenal squad worthy of winning the Premier League.

The former Spurs player picked the Chilean in his team of the week and revealed that’s he’s ‘amazed’ that Alexis can even play like this after not having a proper rest.

“It was always going to take a performance like this to unseat Leicester City,” he said. “This was Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal back to their counter-attacking best. Quite frankly, I’m amazed Sanchez is playing like this at all.

“This lad only finished playing football for Chile in the Copa Americawhen players were reporting back for pre-season training.”

Crooks went on to imply how Alexis is the only player worthy winning the Premier League in our current team.

“Arsene Wenger may have wanted to give him more rest, but it is just as well he can rely on Sanchez,” Crooks continued. “I can’t see anyone else in his side he can put his title hopes on at the moment.”

Where to start with this…?

Crooks is probably the only person on this planet who is completely blind to the talents of Ozil, Ramsey and Cazorla. How any of those aren’t good enough to win the title, I don’t know, and I feel bitter Crook still very much looks at Arsenal through Spurs-tinted glasses.

Of course, Alexis is amazing and we’re glad to have him at our club, but to say he’s the only player we can rely on when we’ve been scoring before he came into form, is just wrong.
