While away with the Spain national squad, Santi Cazorla has admitted that he enjoys his time on the pitch next to Sergio Busquets.

During the previous qualifying match, Cazorla played alongside Busquets and claims he doesn’t mind what position he plays in, he’ll always give everything for the national team.

“Personally, I’ve been playing all year in this position with Arsenal and I like it,” the playmaker said. “I got used to it quickly.

“In the last qualifying game I played alongside Busquets and I enjoyed playing there. The main thing though is give my all for the team no matter where I’m asked to play.”

Playing alongside Busquets would mean a much deeper, defensive role, which many assumed wouldn’t be suited to Cazorla’s abilities. Although many still aren’t convinced about his similar partnership with Francis Coquelin for Arsenal, at least he’s learning to be comfortable in that position and feels as if he’s playing well there.

Cazorla will be hoping to make his 74th start for the Spain senior squad against Slovakia on Saturday. After impressing for Arsenal and becoming one of our stand out players, it’d be a shame if the Spaniard doesn’t get rewarded with game time for his country.
