Santi Cazorla featured in Spain’s 1-0 win against Macedonia on Tuesday.

A goal from Juan Mata early on sealed the deal but the Spaniards aren’t out of the woods yet as mathematically, they still might not qualify.

Cazorla was picked over Cesc Fabregas, which must have been a huge boost for the 30-year-old who, despite now appearing for his club 74 times, often finds it hard to get a starting spot in such a competitive midfield. However, after playing above and beyond for Arsenal, his brilliance has obviously been noticed and his hard work is getting repaid.

The inclusion will hopefully give him a bit of a confidence boost ahead of returning and he can now get a rest before facing Stoke on Saturday, which is bound to be a ‘physical’ match, shall we say?

Hopefully the midfielder is now ready to return to Arsenal and get back to passing other players off the pitch for fun again.
